If you're attacking, you don't get as tired as when you're chasing.

The rules of soccer are very simple, basically it is this: if it moves, kick it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does.

Some people say soccer's a matter of life or death, but it isn't. It's much more important than that.

Winning doesn't really matter as long as you win.

You have got to shoot, otherwise you can't score.

If you score one more goal than the other team, you win.

Never go for a 50-50 ball unless you're 80-20 sure of winning it.

Decorah Boys Destroy NU High 6-1

In spite of soggy conditions and an edgy NU High team approach, the Decorah Boys Soccer team showed composure, class and focus on getting the ball in the goal for a 6-1 win in Cedar Falls on Tuesday. Erik Strand, Devin White, Jason Brill, and Logan Bauhs defensive was impermeable with one lone goal just slipping by goalkeeper Brian Jones on a corner kick. In addition to not allowing but the one goal, this group of defensive players consistently kept the ball on Decorah's end of the field allowing Mitch Cornelius, Garett Strand, Evan Wurtzel, Ben Langholz to score goals. Devin White's rocket of a shot off of a penalty kick earned this week's "Play of the Game."

Decorah will take their 6-1 record into the Waverly tournament this Saturday.
